iShares S&P 500 Growth ETF Outperforms iShares S&P 500 Value ETF
In the long term ETFs (Exchange-Traded Funds) that hold growth-oriented stocks have tended to outperform ETFs that hold value stocks. Such is the case for the iShares S&P 500 Growth ETF (IVW), which holds 233 growth stocks.
As the chart below shows, IVW has consistently outperformed iShares S&P 500 Value ETF (IVE), which holds 437 value stocks.
The following table shows that a $1,000 investment made 10 years ago in IVW is now worth $4,011 while the same investment in IVE is worth $2,604.
