“Alignment” is a word popular in management consulting circles. Roughly, it means that the goals and rewards sought by different parts of the same organization have to fit together to produce a whole, consistent outcome. When the organization’s pieces aren’t aligned trouble follows. You should know, as a savvy saver and investor, with whom your interests are aligned. These tend to be people seeking the same goals you are, often family and friends. It is even more important to know whose goals are not consistent with yours.
