Pfizer Is a Great Dividend-Reinvestment Stock
Pfizer (PFE),
the huge pharmaceutical company, keeps increasing its dividend year after
year. In January 1982 its quarterly dividend on a split-adjusted basis
was just $0.00958, and today it is $0.29, an unbelievable 2,927 percent
increase.
At a closing price as of November 30, 2007 of $23.76, Pfizer's dividend
yield is 4.88 percent, making it an excellent candidate for a dividend-reinvestment
portfolio.
Despite a sideways stock performance for the last two years, Pfizer continues
to be the largest pharmaceutical company with a market cap exceeding $150
billion, almost $50 billion in sales and a strong positive cash flow from
which the company can continue to increase its dividend.
