Expect SunPower To Be a Volatile Stock

SunPower (SPWR), a provider of solar power solutions for homes, businesses and power plants, peaked at $149.56 on November 6, 2007. It then corrected to $105.60, a 30 percent decline. The stock closed at $131.05 on December 28.

High energy prices and pro-alternative energy political and legislative sentiment are helping to push solar stocks higher. But most solar stocks are being priced on future earnings, and that metric usually leads to volatile stock prices.
