Scottish Power Jumps on Takeover Speculation

Scottish Power (SPI), an electric utility based in the United Kingdom, on November 7, 2006 jumped 14 percent on speculation of a possible takeover by the Spanish electricity utility Iberdrola.

SPI has been on a multi-year price upside and pays quarterly dividends with a current annual yield of 5.5 percent. SPI is a candidate for a long-term dividend reinvestment portfolio.
