Most Investors Made Money In 2006

The S&P 500 in 2006 gained 11.78 percent ending the year on the price upside.

Of the 31,375 buy and sell combinations based on daily closes, 23,454 (74.75%) made money. The three-dimensional percent winners chart shows the profitable buy and sell combinations in green and the losers in red.

The winners and losers map shows the large red area of unprofitable buy and sell combinations associated with the price decline in May through June.
