Duke Energy Pays Its Dividend

Duke Energy (DUK), a natural gas and electricity utility, has paid a dividend in good times and bad. Even as the stock cratered in 2001 and 2001, DUK paid its dividend.

Its current price upside and four percent dividend make DUK a candidate for a long-term dividend reinvestment portfolio. But before you buy DUK, wait for the double top price formation to be resolved. Its price could head to the downside.

DUK paid increasing dividends until November 1997.
