AMR Struggles to Make Money for ShareholdersAMR (AMR), the parent of American Airlines, survived the post September 11, 2001 collapse of the airline industry but it is struggling as you can see from its 10-year price chart of weekly closes. The Complete Trading Model (CTM) percent return chart shows the 7,260 monthly trades for the 10 years of which 46.69 percent made money. The spike of green in the left front of the chart is the group of winning buy and sell combinations that occurred after the March 2003 low. The large red area represents the losing buy and sell combinations that occurred on the downside after the stock peaked in January 2001.
The CTM winners and losers map shows the winning trades in green (46.69%) and the losers (53.31%) in red. The spike of winners appears as a green island in the bottom right of the the map.
