All-Star Analysts' Picks

Many analysts recommend buying stocks when they are at high prices or on the downside. buyupside.com frowns on paying too much for a stock and buying on the downside. So we were very interested in the buy recommendations presented in the article "The 2004 Fortune All-Star Portfolio" published in the June 14, 2004 issue of Fortune magazine. The article includes buy recommendations as of May 26, 2004 for ten stocks by ten Wall Street analysts.

The recommendations are summarized in the next table along with our comments on each stock. Nine of the recommended stocks are near all-time highs and/or could be on the downside. So the analysts are telling you to buy near the top and on the downside. The two right hand columns of the table include our recommendations and comments on each stock. Notice that buyupside.com picked only one of the ten stocks as a buy.
