DJIA Drops 89 Percent After 1929 Crash

The DJIA peaked in October 1929 at 380 (weekly close). It then fell to 42 in July 1932 (weekly close), an 89 percent decline. The chart of weekly closes shows the crash and recovery. From the 1929 peak it took the DJIA until November 1954 to again reach 380.
